Ten days passed the situation in the Flood Effected Areas of Andhra and Karnataka still looks grim.

With no water, no food, no clothing, no shelter, no medicine and no place for natural needs the affected area still wears a horrific look.  The Eyes of the people who suffered tell the tale of the fury of Nature and the pain of losing the loved ones, and getting shattered with loss of all that they had the house, belonging, cattle, and ready field to reap the crops.  The children and women are most affected with little respite provided by the govt. and the local organizations who are working 24 hours to help them.

Flood Waters are receding but the problems of effected are far from over.

To, list few of the many problems faced by the victims of the floods.

Those of whom who are luckily to find their house sacked and filled with sludge and mud. Face the opportunist teams of workers who demand four thousand to ten thousand rupees for cleaning.

There are contracting teams who have made this as business. Many do not have the money to give.

Even the boats which are running demand hundreds and thousands to cross water logged area.

Shame is only the word I can think of.  The real stink is not on the streets of Kurnool the stink is in the minds of these opportunist ugly bodies blackmailers, why the adm cannot help with any cost to these victims.

Volenteers who are willing to do it as a service and help the victims are facing threats from these elements who wish to make exploit the situation and make quick money.

Most of the Roads leading to the affected areas are damaged beyond repair; they need major work to make them right. The villages where people are stranded can only be reached by big jeeps, or tractors, or motor bikes.

There is no Electricity and no Water to Drink. Many cattle dead and almost all the fields and the hard work of the farmers washed off.

The surrounding and the road sides of the areas around effected villages and localities in small cities and towns too are spread with loads of grains, belongings dragged by the fury of floods and in condition not useable.

The first hand information of the social organizations and individuals visiting the flood affected areas, are not encouraging.  Govt’s participation is minimal.

There are villages where in the houses are totally washed off with no trace. What is left is only the shattered memories of haply life they lived in them.

Flood Victim, from Alampur, Mehboobnagar, "Kanakamma" her name means Golden Lady, in Telugu. Fate has brought mesiry to her, we incresing her mesiry by delaying effective help.

Weeping and feared, need consoling and moral support.

Tragedy has struck very hard on them.  I spoke to one Mr. Zameer a relief worker in Kurnool. I am trying to sketch my conversation with him for giving you the feel of how the situation on ground zero.

I asked him what is the situation like, he said “The area is totally divasted, with no roads, no access to reach the areas where victims are stuck, the streets and the homes are flooded with mud and sludge 2 to 5 ft deep. Relief work is conducted by workers from the bases of high grounds near to religious places.

Mr. Zameer said food is being prepared round the clock and young boys on track Geeps reach to the victims and give them packet of ready food.

Many breaks down while speaking and taking the food these were the hands which were giving now they are in queue to receive. With eyes full of tears, and little hope and no place to go.

In the religious places the victims are called in groups and washed and made to wear new cloths and given concselling and moral support, and consolation that the whole country and the people and the govt is with them they will have to be patient,  and have courage to bear this fury of nature which has stuck them unfortunately.

Manmohan,  Sonia, Antony, and Roshaiah, If you all love them put Army in Action now. Why delay ? Each hour is killing on the victims please act.

No amount of effort put by the state can ensure speedy comfort to them. The only action proper and in the interest of the people of the affected area would be to put the Indian Army in Action to build the damaged roads, clean the areas and homes in a war footing, restore the electricity, water, and communication services.

Inefficient Working of the Sate Agencies.

The state should open Relief Camps with all necessary items in every village, or mobile vans should go and distribute the relief.  The Religious places to be converted in to relief camps, and supply centers, in addition to the govt buildings.

The People are not appreciative about the efficiency of the Admin. They are agonized.  Failure of the Officials in charge of Dists. Is great concern, the officials blame no man power to tackle the situation. And not enough material to distribute.

Obviouly, the heart thundering situation of Kntk. and A.P. can
be assesed by general public, but the wearer best knows, where the shoes punce. The state govt. and local
admn. is unwilling to take effective step to comfort the
victims. The blackmailers and the anti-social profit makers
must be brouht to book at any cost. Sorry, same doesn’t
a suitable step for the politicians and bureacrauts.
A heatly solace to all the victims. It’s all which i can do
    at present.
