Obama speaking at gaduration class of US Military in a US...

President Barack Obama declared on Saturday the United States cannot act alone in the world and pledged to shape a new “international order” as part of a national security strategy to seal his break with Bush-era policies.

Setting out his vision for keeping America safe as it fights wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, Obama stressed international engagement over predecessor George W. Bush’s “cowboy diplomacy” and signaled his likely repudiation of Bush’s justifications for pre-emptive war.

“The burdens of this century cannot fall on our soldiers alone, it also cannot fall on American shoulders alone,” Obama told graduating cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. “Our adversaries would like to see America sap its strength by overextending our power.” Read more…

Obama’s Promise on Guantanamo Bay.

(AFP) One hundred eighty-three detainees remain incarcerated in Guantanamo.

-By – Karen J. Greenberg, the executive director of the Center on Law and Security at the NYU School of Law, is the author of The Least Worst Place, Guantanamo’s First 100 Days, among other works.

His first day in office, President Barack Obama promised that he would close the Bush-era prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, “as soon as practicable” and “no later than one year from the date of this order.” The announcement was met with relief, even joy, by those, like me, who had opposed the very existence of Guantanamo on the grounds that it represented a legal black hole where the distinction between guilt and innocence had been obliterated, respect for the rule of law was mocked, and the rights of prisoners were dismissed out of hand. We should have known better.

By now, it’s painfully obvious that the rejoicing, like the president’s can-do optimism, was wildly premature. To the dismay of many, that year milestone passed, barely noticed, months ago. As yet there is no sign that the notorious eight-year-old detention facility is close to a shut down. Worse yet, there is evidence that, when it finally is closed, it will be replaced by two Guantanamos Read more…

April 17, 2010 1 comment

We cannot delay action any longer ,

This is an appeal President Obama is making to his world supporter who fought with him on various isssues, and mainly on the Health Care bill.  This is the mail which is sent to thousands who supproted and contributed to his initiative in bringing change to the American, its people and the World at large.

Obama writes. — It has now been well over a year since the near collapse of our entire financial system that cost the nation more than 8 million jobs. To this day, hard-working families struggle to make ends meet.

We’ve made strides — businesses are starting to hire, Americans are finding jobs, and neighbors who had given up looking are returning to the job market with new hope. But the flaws in our financial system that led to this crisis remain unresolved. Read more…

Shining Stars,Obama & Rahul

Rahul Gandhi, on way to see his Vision for Change as reality with the support of Indian Youth.

Rahul Gandhi ji,  is a force which is like the one which emanated in United States of America in the year 2008, a star started to shine, with a definite vision, backed with a golden heart which could hear the pain and the language of the beat of a suffering disadvantaged American, irrespective of Religion, Color, and Caste.  The star to shine on the horizon the galaxies was a humble but, intelligent, humorous, but firm and assertive like a volcano.  I mean my own, Barack Obama, the new voice of the poor, and suffering people of America, and the progressive youth, of America.

He promised change and he kept his promise. He won as President, took tough measures to pull the economy back on track in most adverse condition, still pushing.  He promised a Health care Bill to make health affordable for each American.  He is my angel and his speeches are like songs of hope, inviting breeze of prosperity for US people.

Moment of Victory, making President Obama, more determined and strong to face the challenges ahea, one of them Peace in MIddle East . Our best wishes are with you Mr. President.

As many Americans on the East Coast got ready for bed at the end of the weekend, the House of Representatives cast the votes needed to make President Obama’s health care proposals a reality.

President Obama spoke to the American people shortly after the bill’s passage March 21, “this is what change looks like,” he said. The bill, which has dominated much of the president’s domestic agenda, has gone through months of work in Congress.

One of the most significant health care reforms in decades, the bill provides more affordable health insurance options, the White House says. Among the provisions, it creates an insurance purchasing pool that will help uninsured Americans select among competitive insurance options. It also provides tax credits for small businesses that purchase health insurance for their employees. It requires most Americans to have health insurance or face fines. (This New York Times graphic shows how it will impact Americans.) Read more…

Mahatma Gandhi, once said "You must be the change you want to see in the world" is the youngest of Gandhi's Rahul try to relive the quotes of Mahatma.

This  quote, Rahul  Gandhi, used   “Money Doesn’t Corrupt Politics – Politics Corrupts Money.”  Is to remind us that  “Power Corrupts.”  The people who are brave enough to control the temptations  which come with power, become good leaders.

In the yesterday 15 th March SC  apex court observation, on how the public distribution system is corrupt in our Indian, present day system, is shameful.

The judgment is very clearly indicating a nexus to drain allotted public funds, in most dubious manner.  In midst of the judgment and corrupt allegations on Mayawati govt.

A Bold statement and quote of Rahul  ji on Corruption, is a clear sign of him being clean and plain hearted individual, who is holding guard for the ruling party Congress. Read more…
